Teens Share HomeSchool
This website addresses the question of how 14-year-olds from non-accredited homeschools are accepted into college and how they graduate at the age of 15. We are just normal kids who had parents who took steps to give us a complete education. The topics below explain our homeschool from preschool to college graduation.
The Benefits of Early Graduation: Early college graduation gave us self-confidence and our parents relief that their educational mission had been accomplished. The whole family feels good about this milestone. Early graduation also saves money.
Advantages of Non-accredited HomeSchools: We outline the differences and benefits of Accredited and non-accredited homeschools. Our parents interviewed schools, but decided that a non-accredited homeschool offers more education options and college dual credit choices than accredited schools.
The First HomeSchool Years: Preschool and kindergarten students love to learn from their parents, so they can begin learning to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic.
The Middle Years (approximately 5 to 11): Students learn the fastest before puberty. Homeschoolers from 5 to 11 years old can cover 10 to 12 school grades.
Dual Credit and College Credit: Homeschool students can earn dual high school and college credit through a college. There are also thousands of alternative college dual credit options available to non-accredited homeschools to earn college credit during adolescent years. These credits can be placed on the homeschool transcript.
Alternative College Credit: We earned alternative college credit by taking exams such as Advanced Placement (AP), CLEP, and DSST exams to complete a portion of our college requirements at home, saving time and money. CLEP has helped students earn college credit since 1965.
Alternative College Credit Courses: Thousands of alternative college dual credit courses, taught outside of college, are available to earn college credit while at home and be placed on the homeschool transcript.
Selecting and Entering College: Non-accredited homeschool students are accepted at all colleges. We explain how we selected a college that met our qualifications. Students can choose to attend college on campus or online from the comfort of their own homes.
College at a 70% Savings: We saved approximately 70% on college tuition. This page gives an example of how other students can also save thousands of dollars on college costs.
About Us: Our Timeline and Other Details.
We started this website to encourage others to homeschool. We are now getting Master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence, and will both finish at age 17. Our college and masters degrees are online so we study at home. We will not have student debt because our homeschooling and college degrees were budgeted to “not break the bank." This website covers the homeschool timespan from preschool to college graduation.
The TeensShareHomeschool planning and dual credit strategy works worldwide. Colleges in all 50 states recognize homeschool transcripts, and these colleges generally accept international students. When homeschool and college are 100% online, both U.S. and international students can earn a U.S. college degree from the comfort of their own homes. After graduating from college, students can apply for a master's degree worldwide.
