Why Non-Accredited Homeschools
Depending on state laws, there are two ways to teach students at home. One is to create a non-accredited homeschool (legal in all 50 states and accepted by colleges), and the other is to enroll your students in an accredited school that provides lessons taught in your home. Both paths offer their own set of advantages, and it's important to understand the implications of each.
If the parent decides the curriculum, provides the materials, keeps all records, and supplies the transcript and diploma, your homeschool is non-accredited. This type of homeschool has the flexibility to teach the subjects the parent chooses and to be self-paced. Our homeschool was non-accredited.
An Accredited school uses the same curriculum as public and private schools.
